Exotic Aquarium was the preimere store in a chain of pet shops in Metro Detroit. Ever since it's beginnings the emphasis has always been on the Best quality Tropical Fish and Supplies. Although only Exotic Aquarium and our sister store The Aquarium of Livionia remain, the goal is still the same, provide Detroiter's with the best quality at competeive prices. | ||||||||||||||
| Family owned and operated from it's beginnings, Exotic has always been a great place to shop. Bob and Dorthy Gooldy put their sons Fred and Bill on the right track with the importance of quality and variety from the very begining. This picture shows Bob & Dorthy next to the 70 Gal tank that housed the original "Godfather", a True Black Piranha that lived over 35 Years in our store. |  |

Exotic Aquarium has always been a great place to find the best selection of various products for your fish. Even back in the early days, we had a huge selection of the latest and greatest products for maintaing and caring for your aquarium. Although she seems confused in this picture, this young girl could always ask one of our helpful staff for exactly what she needs. | ||||||||||||||

| With over 100 tanks back in the day, Exotic Aquarium was a place to bring the family to look at various pretty tropical fish from around the world. The tanks of that time were state of the art for displaying fish with beautifully decorated "diarama style decorations in the rear while leaving the front open for easily catching the livestock. | |||||||||||||||

What is old is new again. Back in the 1960's Exotic Aquarium was one of the few stores in the midwest to cater to Pond and Water Garden enthusisists. We even had a indoor Pond set-up right in the store. Now some 40 years later, we are seeing a resurgence in Ponds and meeting the demands of our customers by carrying everything from Pumps and Filters to Conditioners and Koi. | ||||||||||||||
