Detroit was home of oldest public aquarium in the United States, The Belle Isle Aquarium until our former Mayor decided to close it to save money do to the current Economic Situation in Detroit.

Exotic Aquarium’s manager visited the Belle Isle Aquarium a few weeks before it finally closed and took some pictures of the fish before they were sold off or disposed of.

A small grass roots movement is ongoing to try and reopen the aquarium, but it seems like a lost cause.
